Blepharoplasty

Along with the age, the skin around the eyes begins to sag, reducing the overall attractiveness of the eyes and face, and so also obstructing the field of view.

Blepharoplasty or eyelid lift surgery is a procedure used to remove the excess skin and fat that cause the eyelids to droop. Other than for cosmetic reasons, this procedure is also effective in improving sight in elders when their sagging upper eyelids get in the way of their vision.

In this procedure, incisions are placed along the natural lines of the eyelids. Through these incisions, the skin is separated from the underlying tissue and removes excess fat and skin around the eye. The muscles around the eyes are also manipulated according to the severity of the case.

Thereafter, using very minute stitches, the cuts are closed. If fine lines appear around the region later, they are softened with laser treatment.
